"BedRug" is the brand name for a carpeted bed liner and, as such, there is only one. Looks like it's getting to the point, however, where Kleenex, Coke, Go Kart, etc., are now. For example, many people (me included) refer to the brand name "Kleenex" rather than the generic term "facial tissue", regardless of which actual brand we may be using.

There may be several brands of carpeted bed liners out there and the "Steel Horse" brand mentioned earlier is one example. However, of the various brands that I have seen, the BedRug brand appears to me to be the best. I paid $350 installed for mine and it has a lifetime warranty.

BedRug is a registered trademark of Wise Industries, Inc. You can reach them at 800-462-8435 or at their website: www.bedrug.com . Either source will refer you to a local dealer in your area.

99 Lightning:
I found a place called America Tire Center in Canton Ga. that actually had in stock an ARE LSII bed cover in Ford Oxford White and as well a Bed Rug for our truck.
The bed cover is $820 installed with some sort of $85 add on and I forgot to ask their price for the Bed Rug.
In any case, I have a service appointment with them at 8:00 Friday to get both installed.
If you are interested, the phone # is 770-720-2840 and ask for Rod.

Bill,

You might be able to talk your "lid-n-liner" guy down a few bucks. I paid $699 + tax for my A.R.E. LSII hard tonneau, painted to match and installed, here in Orlando. I also had a carpeted liner to match the BedRug installed on the underside of the lid for an additional $65 (this may be what the $85 charge you were quoted is for). I decided not to order the optional $229 fiberglass spoiler.

So, adding the $350 charge for the BedRug, I paid a total of $1,115 (plus 6% sales tax) for the whole package. Got the combo at a place called Cap World here in Orlando. Good people. Ordered both items just before my truck came in and stopped by to have them installed on my way home from the dealer after picking up the truck on July 3.

Normally, the A.R.E. lids (and the BedRugs too) are always special ordered from the factory by the dealer since there are so many possible variations (e.g., color, bed length, bed style, brand of truck, etc.). Takes about 2 weeks after placing the order to get the lid. I mention this just in case your dealer won't "deal" and you should decide to order it from someone else.

At any length, the A.R.E. lid and BedRug liner is one heck of a great looking and excellent quality combo. You'll love both and will get lots and lots of compliments.

Thumbs up

Metallic Blue,

Sorry for the delay in response. Yes, $319 is the price for THE Bedrug that can be seen at www.bedrug.com. Most of the distributors I went to had a small sample piece, but you really don't get a feel for the quality of the bedrug from looking at the little piece they have. The thing is just plush!

Talking

F150SVT and others:

Got the ARE LSII and Bedrug installed this am.
In the end, I got a fairly good deal for the two and paid about the same as you did for the combo. More for the lid, less for the Bedrug.
And, boy am I pleased!! The quality of both items far surpasses most of what I have seen "on the street". The rug fits perfectly, and the lid operates like a bloody bank vault door.
The "hump" is a little off-putting at first, but then I remembered I always wanted a Ford Australian Ute, their version of a US pickup, and this thing looks almost exactly like that as far as the bed goes. Took a half hour to fall in love with the look. I did not go for the wing, only because I have a Lightning and I did not think it appropriate. But the demo unit they had on a straight F150 looked really fierce.
A good decision, I think and I recommend it to anyone looking for this sort of thing.

Congratulations, Bill! And welcome to the growing ARE/BedRug club.

Like you, I was not too sure at first about the raised portion of the lid. Then, however, I discovered that it adds about an inch to the inside vertical clearance (which I have needed more than once) and, more importantly, substantially increases the strength of the lid. Like you say, it's vault-like.

This is one reason why A.R.E. feels so confident about its lifetime warranty on the LSII. FYI, the Mpulse Lo-Pro brand hard tonneau is owned by A.R.E. and fits flush (without the raised portion), but is warrantied for just 3 years because it is not as strong as the LSII. According to my dealer, this is also one reason why ARE does not allow its name to be associated with the Lo-Pro even though they own the brand and it was awarded the 1999 Best New Product award by the Truck Cap and Accessory Association. They don't want to confuse their customers about warranty periods.
