The door chime is driving me crazy !!!! Please tell me how to disconnect it !

This has been bugging the hell out of me as well. Any ideas on how to disconnect it? The headlight chime would be nice to disconnect as well. If they are one in the same, I think it would be great to just stop all the chiming altogther.

Hey fellas,

It is very easy. Remove the screws on the bottom side of the steering column and then remove the bottom cover. You will have access to the ignition switch. Then just remove the wire lead that is attached to ignition switch. It is one wire only and I think it has a plastic plug made on to it. This is one of the first things I always do when I buy a new vehicle.

That's not really a good idea to disconnect that wire on a new Ford vehicle. The PATS module and GEM module, both look for that input from that circut. That wire tells the modules that the key has been inserted in the ignition. Disconnecting it can affect the PATS operation, and set codes in the GEM. You can go to your local Ford dealer and have them turn the chime off in the GEM module using the NGS scan tool.
