Engine is out Pics included

i took my motor out of my truck last night and diassembled it to check the damage and took pics. i do have to say after 25000-30000 very hard miles on this motor besides that piston, valve and that cyl everything else is in exceptional shape. here are the pics:

i must say for the miles and abuse on this motor these bearings are in great shape and look brand new

Makes it feel like an IMAX moment. Your there. The block is right there. It's so big it seems real. Crap, it is.

I must say a valve head being slammed around in the CYL does a great job removing carbon deposits.

Sorry about your engine.

I find it amazing that the bearings look as good as they do! What oil were you using?

Zowwie, impressive seeing that valve like that.

Did a spring retainer break and do all that?

I noticed you were one of the few whippled L's. Whipple is on my Cobra too. Got it used, 3rd owner actually, both the other two cars it was on...... grenaded.

I live in arizona. we don't have winters. our winters are like fall back east

Always used mobil 1 5/30 synthetic

well the spring broke into 3 pieces causing both retainers to pop out and the valve went into the cyl. the valve stem i found in my converter on the pass side
