Guages finally in.
Guages finally in.
I finally finished installing my lotek triple pod with phantom boost, trans temp and egt guages. I would say that Tims right up helped alot with the install. It is a great write up with good tips to make it easier. I found myself double checkin the wiring with his site a few times since I only wanted to do this once. From start to finish it took about four hrs. This included hunting down my tools, deciding how and where to run my wiring, and taking breaks because it is so hott here right now. Im definetly pleased with the results and worth the hard work. Its more time consuming than anything else. I know a thead like this has been done a million times , so dont flame me too hard this time. Have a good one.

[QUOTE=Mickey_shouseThis one surpised me a lil. I have the stock pulley, true dual maganaflows, air force one with power tube, and a xcal. Is this normal for a stock pulley 03?[/QUOTE]
Well it looks a little high for a stock pullied truck
Let me ask you a question. Where did you hook up the power wire for the guage??
It is very important that the power wire is hooked up to a switched power source that doean't get interupted whn you crank over the engine. If the power is interupted while you crank over the engine it will give you a false reading. If you turn the key to the on position does the guage reset itself to zero?? If it doesn't you don't have it hooked to the right circuit.
I have the same boost guage and this is where I hooked my power wire

Don,
I have the power wire hooked up in the same exact place that you have in the pic. It does zero itself when you turn the key before starting. Surprised me too, I new the stock guage pegged out but I didnt know if it was accurate or not.

Thanks, I know the truck was built on a wednesday but I didnt think that it had anything to do with it. Just kiddin bout the wednesday comment. I guess I got a good one. Now it makes me think if I want to add the #4 lower. This surprised me really because it was 95 yesterday when I took it for a drive.
Mickey,
Isn't your boost gauge mechanical ? Autometer Phantom 5701 or 5703?
If so where did you T-off the boost/vac line to to connect it?
The electric power for that gauge should only be for lighting.
I agree...it's definitely a high reading.

I got the electric boost vacum guage. It has a map sensor to intall along with the tee fitting. I just teed into the stock guage, so both autometer and stock guages work. It zeros itself when you turn the key to run and is supposed to adjust for any climate changes to give u an accurate boost reading
Don't forget to do the Blue Bulb Mod with the Phantoms. It looks a lot closer to the dash lights than the sharpie mod.
