Post Standard or Metric

Hello Guys,
This Wednesday I plan on going to my local Sears store to purchase some tools. I would like to know if anyone off the top of their head knew if the bolts used on our Lightnings were Standard American or Metric? Perhaps the bolts used are a combination? Anyone who knows the answer and can post it here, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Metallic Blue

Everything I've touched so far has beem metric. It doesn't hurt to have both though. Watch the Sunday inserts for a Sears sale on a combo set. I think there was one last week.

My kids bought me a Metrinch set (about $120) and I'm sold...I hardly use any other tools now. The Metrinch design allows the wrenches and sockets to fit SAE and metric. Now I just get out the Metrinch case and go to work; no more heavy tool box to lug around. I'm very happy with these tools.
I know that Metrinch is available at some Sears stores, too.

Cool

Hey Marv,
Thanks for the information. I found the site for these guys. http://store.metrinch.com/index.taf?...4281FC37F11023
one question I have though is this, in the FAQ they say there tools are not sold in any stores. Is it possible Sears is a distributor? Well I'm reading about Metrinch, thanks for the good idea. I would like to know if anyone else on this board has used Metrinch?

Thanks,
Metallic Blue

Like many, I have several sets of hand tools of various manufacture. However, a few months ago my brother-in-law gave me a set of Metrinch tools and I find myself using them more and more. They appear to be of excellent quality and really do a great job. They are especially useful in automotive applications where, like our Lightning's, you run into many fasteners of both SAE and metric size. So far, so good.
