Post lightning heads

just wondering, has anyone thought about how hard it would be to put a set of navigator heads on the lightning?

Read an article that said that it puts the supercharger up too high to fit in there...not gonna give up that jewel.

is there a ram-air hood with more clearance made for the F-150 that might provide the overhead room to mount the supercharger up higher? And of course you'd need bracketry, belts, etc to deal with the increased height.

I'm sure Craftsman makes a high speed grinder for those pesky hoods that don't shut.

I think the 4V heads would be a major job and hassle.I believe if you have 4 valves you will have 4 independant ports also. These ports being in the head as well as the intake manifold.Air flows in through the throttle body and into the intake ports of the heads. From there the intake valve opens to let the air into the combustion chamber.Once lit the exhaust valve opens to let the exhaust out.On the 4V motor,it should have a completely different intake as well as the heads.I believe the Eaton supercharger does away with the stock manifold. So using this type supercharger would not work on the 4 valve head. If you just have to have them, check out Kenne Bell.He has a Eaton style supercharger kit for the Navigator 4V.But the Lightning supercharger won't work.

maybe they used the nav. 5.4 on the 2001 lightning to make it quicker... hmm...., i saw a pic. of the lightning 5.4 and i think you're right about the intake manifold and blower being one and the same.

Cool

The blower on a 4V head engine is a good idea...just won't fit. The concept Super Stallion has a 5.4 DOHC with a blower. I believe it was rated at 545 HP. www.wardsauto.com/namerica/1105ford.htm
