So I changed my rotors and brakes today......
And discovered a couple scary things. Found out where some of my clunking has been comming from. Took the passenger front calliper off, took the dustcap and cotter pin out. Put my hand on the rotter and was like WTF??? I could move my rotor in and out quite a bit. The nut was backed off at least a full turn and a half!!!!!
I don't know how long it's been like this but it was pretty scary to find.
Anyway, installed everything went to the driver side and both bolts for the calliper were loose. I could shake the calliper.
First time any of this has had a wrench put to it. 20k miles and I KNOW it's never been touched.
Pretty scary. Good thing I decided to do the brakes.
On another note, my brakes were actually in REAL good shape. Pads were still at about 75% and aside from being rusty, the rotors looks real good. I just assumed since i haven't ever touched them at least the pads needed to be done especially from all the burnouts. And the rotors were just looking beat. I was surprised.
Anyhow, I put on a set of cross drilled and slotted rotor pros. I ordered dimpled and was like WTF, but I already had everything apart and put them on. I don't do alot of hard brakeing accept at the track every hear and again. 4k miles a year, i won't worry about it. I went with the stock ford pads and there is a noticable difference. I notice better stoping in lower MPH stopping.

I had to change mine this weekend too. I broke them in 3 places on both sides of the truck. Luckly they didnt fly apart. I had Sloted rotors and PFC metalic Z pads. And I had about 1000 mile or less on them.
THis happened at the SVTOA Open Track at Shannonville Ontario.
