How many miles are on your truck it could be the pump but then it could be the relay or fuse. Get the manual out and check your underhood fuse and relay.

Most common problem is a bad connection at the motor.
Check for corrosion or loose pins.

you may have to remove the pump and clean it if it is not the relay.

^ what they said. Take the plug off and see if the pins are corroded, or if a wire rotted through. Then, you can start the truck and after a few seconds the pump relay should fire, and you will get 12 volts to the motor. Also, check for a good ground. Sometimes the grounds get corroded between the terminal and the ground point.

It would probably be in your best intrest to go ahead and replace it. That is the same thing mine was doing just before it quit. Im sure its probably not flowing the proper GPM. These pumps are only made to operate for so long, failure is inevitable.

Make sure it's not too full. If it's past the full mark you won't see the swirl as much.
