Not even close Get the L; A few mods and your all over the SRT10; trust me I'm a SALES MGR for a Dodge Dealership; I can burn a Viper in a 1/4 and the SRT10 Ram is not even in the same ball park as my 01

It had a chip and different pulleys on it, I don’t know how much HP it had.
I took it for a test drive and was a little disappointed ,with the moods it had I would have expected more.
Anyway I went to my Dodge dealer took a SRT10 for a spin, and what a difference.
It was like it had 100HP more than the Lighting, so now should I get the Lightning on the SRT10???

Thanks

No kidding!! If you asked the same question on an SRT forum i dont think anyone would say get the lightning.

Before you make up your mind, do some research especially if you are going to be modding the truck you decide to buy. It will cost you twice as much for mod parts for an SRT-10 than it will for the L. "Chip, Filter, Pulley" <---if you haven't heard this yet, thats enough to get you into 12's at the track and enough to take out most SRT-10s(of course thats dependant on track, driver, etc...). That will cost you at most $700-$800(thats my guess anyone correct me if im wrong). Just my .02 cents. Good look on whichever path you take

I raced and consistently beat a regular cab SRT-10 one night. We must have gone for it from a roll 4-5 times.

For me, a good reason to have a Lightning is because everyone who buys the SRT-10 is doing so because they think they can beat, or are faster than Lightnings. Stock, the SRT's are slightly faster, with decent MPH in the quarter mile, but who keeps a Lightning stock?

Plus, do you ever want to tow anything?

500HP VS 380HP,
I dont think you should compare the HP. Sure it would be nice to be 'Wanna feel what 500 HP feels like?' But it doesn't make it that much faster then an L. The SRT will probably get more looks, and more challanges. The SRT also is a manual, so if thats or thing then go for it. If I had the money Id get one....but I'd keep my L too.

srt-10 dynos 390RWHP
04 Lightning 340-350RWHP

Lightning is lighter also so that gap lessens a lot.

the srt-10 has nothing on the L.

besides better looks, more hp, and the guiness book of world records for the fastest production pickup ever.

The L gets better gas mileage. I think the *****-10 gets 8 or 9 mpg.

haha, it does have a 100 hp more than the lightning...tee hee

I dont' know guys, i drive by a dealer every day that has had the same 5 sitting out front and these things aren't moving anywhere. About 2 inches of dust on them. I definetly think they are alot better looking then when i first saw them.

If anyone of you have ever had a ride in one, you can definetely tell the difference up around the 90+ mark. These SRT's do pull like a mother. You go 100-150 like nothing, kinda like going from 0-60 in the L.

Just my thoughts.

Just get the SRT, then drop by my house when you have broken it in, I'll ride out, hand you your ***, and you can sit there and question why you spent 50 grand for a pickup, and I walked out the door brand new with mine for only 26,500. Thanks again.

Look at all of you losers! Hook Line and sinker!

This guy would not post something like this unless he wanted to start something.
I vote to ban this thread already, before more of you helpless doogans continue to respond.

.02 Peace
