I contacted a dealer about ordering a 2000 lightning. He advised me that he his 4 99's coming in this week and 2 have not been spoken for. Should I try to buy a 99 or wait for the 2000's that have minor improvement's ??? It is also getting close to winter. Thanks for your help.

 

I think the 2000's have an overhead console (probably will retro to ours) and a single CD player for differences. See if he can convince you ($$$) not to order one and go from there. Beware,don't under any circumstances test drive one!!! What is it the gun owners say...you can have it when you pry my cold, dead fingers from around it. You may be the one that is convinced ($$$) if you do.

Hey GMC, Sal here. The 2000s have a few cosmetic differences. They get body colored side mirrors, overhead console, privacy glass on the sliding rear window, Silver added as 4th color choice, new rims (should look the same as 99s, they just changed the lug design), and the standard radio will be a single in dash CD unit, with the current remote 6 disk unit as an option. I think if the salesman is pushing the 99 on you, he must want to get rid of them. I'd take advantage of it, you could probably get it for sticker or maybe less. Many dealers are getting way over sticker for them.
