homeade ram air kit

homeade ram air kit

hey i was wanting some info on the homeade ram air kit where you run duct from the bottom of your stock air box to your front fascia. i know there was a thread with a how to about that before but i cannot find it. The main part i dont get is how to keep the water out of it when it rains..any info is appreciated! thanks

I would not worry about that. Being that you would still have the fender opening letting air into the motor, you would never have a vacuming affect to pull any water into the engine. I can only imagine a slight mist getting anywhere up the tube from one of those kits.

I think gravity would do the job, but I dont really know for a fact.

I've had two, three inch tubing connected to some outlets running from underneath my front facia to my homemade air box with a 12" S & B Cone filter for over 3 years - and never had any problems with water entering it. Now I do make sure and don't plow into a foot of water at 60mph though - I don't what would happen then.
