Oskees,
I was an absolute motor head for 3 decades before owning the L,
and when I knew it was time to do the plugs the first time, I realized all the rules just went out the door. I also remember asking the same question you just asked, the only answer one can give to someone that hasn't done them yet is, BRO YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW @&*$ UP IT IS UNTIL YOU DO IT, hehehe

As said it DOES get easier as you do it more often, schitt I got the pass
side down to about 15 minutes, but the Drivers side can be a MF at first.
The whole trick is to know what to use on each cylinder, 5 or 6 will be straight up, but some wont be. The coil screws are the easy part, (if you can call that easy) The 3rd coil screw on the Drivers side will drive you absolutely bonkers at first, you will need a 7mm 1/4" swival socket to get it, and your truly need a telescoping magnet.

As for the plugs the last one on the pass side will need a short set up to just get you outside the cylinder head, and then you'll need to figure your angle out. The last one on the Drivers side seems like the worse one, yet once you figure out for that one you need a short extension on a regular 1/4 7mm socket to remove the coil screw, the plug is actually cake.

The whole trick is to NOT Lose the socket or have the extension pull off it while in the recess of the head, DONT ASK HOW I KNOW THAT, *@$%($&$
BUT IF YOU NEED TO USE ONE, "TAPE IT"

It still takes me a good hour or two to do it, and I've dont them a good 6-8 times now, but most of the time is done taking pic's, putting never seize on the plugs, that special non drying silicone on the boots, gapping the plugs, and smoke breaks, hehehehehe
(YES I USE NEVER SEIZE AND ALWAYS HAVE)

on last weeks plug change I switched over to the Special Coil Screws which should cut out a good 1/2 hour or more, I also tied back anything and everything I could on the last plug drivers side which will save a good amount of time there too. My biggest issue is actually working around my Nitrous Kit now.
Unplug the Injectors, disconnect any sensor plugs, vac lines, etc, that are in your way and it makes it much easier

Here, read this, some great info from Chucks Site

and maybe check out some of these post.
the main thing is to know what your in for, it's not bad, just dont rush it the first time.

OskeesLightning just plan on it taking a weekend just in case. Search around and find some tricks. It is more aggrivating and time consuming than difficult. It can be a real pain but it can be done!

Its' not that hard - as long as you have plenty of time (block out at least 4 hours for your first try) and lots of patience and the right tools. If you don't have all 3 - it'll be a pretty exciting job. Small nimble fingers help too. Also - you don't want that rubber cushion thats usually inside your spark plug socket coming off with the plug after you install it - so you want to check that out and see if it happens "before" installing any plugs. Also - those little coil pack bolts - a surprising number of guys have either cross threaded them or broken upon re-installing - so you need to make your mind up ahead of time that you'll take as much time as necessary that when re-installing them - they're going in straight - and don't overtighten.
