True Dual Exiting both sides of Lightning
I've thought about this for a moment and decided to ask a few of you. How difficult would it be to have the driver side setup just like the passenger side? I mean can a true dual exhaust system be installed and custom cut to look just like the stock setup on the passenger side? If possible i would like to have a true dual exhaust system exiting both the driver side and passenger side as long as it looks perfect. Tell me what you think it would look bad as hell to me.
Thanks,

I think it would look hot also. I have given it thought also. I feel that my Lightning has a good side and a less photogenic side. But my concern is that the gas fill would be just above the pipes on the drivers side and even a little spill at the station could create a disaster
I would agree about the pipe being under the fuel door. If I had to go full dual, I would go ahead and run 'em out the back. Where would we get a filler panel or replacement ground effect fairing sans exhaust notch? Any suggestions?

Someone was looking into this back in April or May. I cannot find the thread though. The problem would be getting a skirt with the cut-out fab'd/cast that is 'opposite hand' from the one on the right side. Who makes the stock pieces for Ford? In any case - I want one!
Hey Chuck,
I just wanted to see how your Invinca-shield install went...did you have a 3M dealer do it? I bought the kit and tried to do some of it myself but I guess I don't have enough patience. I don't have a dealer in Memphis so I am trying to set up taking the truck to Atlanta where there is a dealer that has done a couple of our trucks. The pieces that I did manage to do myself look awesome, you can't even tell that the stuff is on there unless you get right up on it.

Collin

Collin,
Yes I had a dealer install the kit, bought the full kit, front end, roof, door pillars, rocker panels, etc. Beth Turned me on to this guy here in Houston, he came out to my house and did the install in my front yard.
I am very pleased with the install except for the big bumper piece. They didn't make provision for the groove that runs across the bumper and it made the fit a little dicey. The installer isn't satified and is going to cut me a new piece and re-do it at no charge.
Even on black, the kit is completely invisible from 5 ft away. I feel much better about having spent the money now that I have seen what it looks like and what it can do. (Already had to scrape a big 'ol dragonfly off the front bumper, they don't hold up well when they're hit at 100 MPH ;-))
I would say that the service provided by Beth at Invinca-Shield and thier local installer has been excellent. My installer has agreed to get me some scrap pieces so I can put them on the rocker panel faces inside the wheel wells, as these were not provided for in the kit.
BTW the installer took 14 hours over two days to get it all installed. This is NOT a job I would attempt myself, this stuff is worse than window tint!

Collin,
Installing the 3M Scotchcal kit developed and sold by Invinca-Shield is an all-day job for a pro installer (for the full kit, at least). Have you spoken with Beth McCormick at Invinca-Shield's North Carolina home office? You probably have, but if not, give her a call (or e-mail her). She may be able to put you in touch with a dealer/installer who might be closer to Memphis than Atlanta.
I love my Invinca-Shield coating. Stone chips and paint damage from bug juice are now a thing of the past.
