New 12" True Flow Air Filters Are Here......
If you know where to go you can find the same stainless steel hanger bracket that everyone uses for $15 and the same CNC'ed billet aluminum adapter for $25 cash American. Makes for a $90 cold air kit including the $50 filter...

Air filters are not complicated devices. Ones that flow more do so at the expense of filtering capability. Like K&N says, its products filter better the more junked up they get. Why? Because until they get junked up (i.e., partially clogged), the pores are so large that a basketball can get through.
I'm not knocking any of them. But the best filtering filter is the one that came on the truck. That's why it flows less than a K&N drop-in. It's the classic performance versus reliability tradeoff.

All filters filter better as they get "junked up".
Some filtering media are actually pretty good at both flowing and filtering. I almost went to work at a filter company and they put most of their work into developing more efficient media.
The best filter is one with a very "clean" media and an extremely large surface area. Want a filter set-up that's as clean or cleaner than the stock filter and flows more? Figure out how to get 2 of them into one housing!
These large cylindrical or conical filters do have large surface areas and thus they really don't need "high flow" media.

But if you have the PSP/JLP box do you still need the whole kit or do you just order the filter?

The open cell foam filter will be excellent for trapping dirt / other particulates and providing superior air flow. That's why motorcross, desert and enduro bikes use them, as well as rally cars. It's a proven design. The really sticky honey-like oil that's used with the filter is the key to it's wide-range particle trapping ablilties.
I've just bought one. I think this product is a godsend for those of us who require a high volume filtering solution. We are very fortunate to have a mfg. to produce this class of product for our vehicle. Seriously!

No.
No.
I’m for anything that flows and keeps my oil cleaner.
With an S&B setup oil changes were black, extremely black, causing frequent oil changes (using Mobile 1 this got expensive) and frequent filter cleaning. When I switched to a 7-inch True Flow (last year) I had no difference in power or sound, and I know the engine is cleaner because of the change in oil color alone. I’m no engine builder or tuner but could bad filtration be a large cause of our impeller ware? And what’s going on after the blower if it eats coatings?
Here’s a link to an interview done at SEMA Off Road last year with True Flow and Truck World TV, one of the reasons I switched…

Thanks Tim for working with True Flow to produce the 12-inch version, I love it!
I bought two, one for daily use and one for show …

Shortly after we put them on the website I was contacted by True Flow and informed that I was under MAP pricing and had to raise it. So, a few guys got better deals. It's still a great deal for this filter.
We have one S&B 12" filter left and will sell it cheap, $35. Call if you want it.

Tim/Andy...I just tried to order the True Flow Filter as well as your Intake Tube on line but had a problem completing the processing due to "invalid card number"? The card number was indeed correct, however, could not go back!! Should I just re-order from scratch, or what is to prevent this from happening again or duplicating the order?
email me at: edvosyka@mindspring.com
Thanks!
