Why not more 10 second Eaton+bottle trucks?

Just looking around I find a lot of the 10 second trucks running KB's and not many at all running a eaton and the bottle. Is there some major reason nobody goes this route?

My only thought is this:
If you have the money for a built block, built heads, built tranny, roll bar, suspension/tire, and everything else it takes to build a ten second truck, Chances are that the extra money for a KB really isn't that much. Especially when you consider a GOOD nitrous set up is going to run well over a grand by the time its all done, and your going to spend 500 bucks on porting your eaton and getting pullies for it, your too close to the cost of a big boy blower. A blower you can ALWAYS enjoy, not just when you hit the button. Everyone talks about dropping 3-5K on a built block and you've got a ten second truck, when I think you'll find that MOST people running consistant tens have well over 20k into thier truck between parts labor tuning and stuff.

If you live in AZ, you will not be hitting tens w\ Nitrous and a KB or Eaton, at least I have never seen it yet!!

Most ten sec KB trucks dont drive around on "10 sec levels" of boost anyway.A bottle is easier to open than to swap pullies.

I am doing the built long block, ported eaton, and nitrous setup. We'll see what it does this fall.

yeah

with all it takes to get a Heaton/juice truck into the tens, might as well put a KB on it and call it a day.

In either case, the stock block would hold up consistanly and you'll need a new one.

I ported the blower and bought the nitrous kit before I decided to do my engine. I'm not sure which way I would have went if my truck was stock and I was doing everything at once.

If I knew what I knew today, I wouldn't have sold my 01 L, bought a 02 Harley - sold it, and then bought a 03L.. I'd be so much better off financially if I would have just kept the 01 L..

Oh well!

There are a couple of trucks that will be dipping into the 10's this race season in AZ.
