To defend myself here:

some people cant read. did you miss the part that said he had over $8000.00 in mods.

Thank-you to those who are trying to be helpfull. some you of you look at me as being stupid, use a longer bar and hammer? jeez, never thought of that thanx a bunch, using heat on the crank? wow, great idea that never even crossed my mind. pen lube on it. tired that too. i tried all of these things several times over. i made round 5 attempts at it over the course of a couple weeks. im not going to mess with it anymore. i can tell, the head will strip before the bolt will crack.

Was it an SRT-4???
On those you don't even need $8000....simple upgrade on the turbo and a couple of other bolt-ons....and these cars are in the 12's. Stock they pull high 13's low 14's.

plenty around here that are faster than me.......for now.

To get your pulley off, you may end up taking the fan, adn radiator shroud off, and trying to get an impact in there. That might be the only route you are able to take. I just installed a new upper pulley on mine, and without the correct tools, you really don't want to try it. I broke my tool a total of 6 times. I made my own modeled after one of the tools sold by a vendor. Mine is a cheap knockoff, and it shows. Purchace a real tool from a good vendor, and follow the directions to a "T". Good luck,
J

And yes, if it was an SRT-4, with 8k in upgrades, then it was a good loss, not a disgrace.

Then that person as well, should never work on a vehicle again. If you were fully aware of what could have happened you wouldn't have done it. Wouldn't have been that "great" of an idea if your truck fell off the lift would it>??? I am all about do your own work on your own vehicle, but if you can't handle, don't do it. I know I may sound like a ***** but someone could have gotten seriously hurt or even killed doing what you tried. Just not worth it. -Mat-

no it wasnt an srt-4 it was a 2002 r/t i think. but like you said you woulndnt need 8 grand in mods in an srt-4 to beat an L. you'd be in the 10's or 11's. he didnt take me by much (a length and a half), and i spun em' too much. so im confident i'd take him after i finish the little modding i plan on doing: Volant intake. 90mm MAF, 4lb pulley (upper or lower), catback, C&L plenum. i have everything but the pulley on and ill order the volant tomorrow, but i was considering the AEM Brute Force, but im kinda uncomfortable with them putting the MAF sensor in the tube. i saw one installed in an L in ford truck world mag. they had problems with the idle.

the day has come atlast!

i got the pulley on yeasterday, and put a good tune and filter in it this morning. ill give neon boy a call tonight. that way he'll have all the prep time in the world and no excuses. im sure hell crank the turbo up and throw on his race tires. ill show up with my spare on my front drivers side. ( ive got the bum wheel in the bed for proper weight distribution ) im thinkin 50 bucks for best outta 3 runs. and the bragging rights. this kid is known to have "the fastest car around" the car part is up in the air, but i intend to over throw his little throne.
