Thumbs up Cone filter set up for 99s

Hey all, Sal here from the NLOC-CMAD. We now have available cone filter/duct/mounting kits for the 99 Lightnings. It comes with a new washable cone filter, and a steel, black powdercoated tube that connects it to the MAF. I have a dyno tuning session on Monday, and I am going to see what it gains power wise while I'm there. I can feel the difference just driving around, which was kind of surprising. Not 100% sure on pricing yet, but I figure in the $80 range. You can check out pictures of it at: http://members.aol.com/NLOCsvt/cmad.html The filter kits as well as the 99 Lightning chips should be ready for order by next week. Like always, I will keep everyone posted on price and availability.

Hey Dennis, Sal here. All of our 99 Lightning chips come standard with the Dual Program option. Program 1 is stock, and Program 2 is performance. It is suggested in the instructions that you use Program 1 for normal driving, so your gas milage should not change. Even in Program 2 you should not see a drop in mpg if you are crusing around. Most of the performance changes in the software are for WOT conditions.

Hey all, Sal here. The 99 Lightning cone filter kits are now ready for order. They come with a washable "Power Stack" filter and a gloss black powdercoated steel inlet duct, with integrated mount. For those who don't know what a Power Stack filter is, it looks like a regular cone filter, but instead of having just a rubber end on it, it has a second cone filter facing inward formed into the end. This increases the filters surface area. I chose to use the Power Stack filter because the power cone sits directly in front of the hole in the inner fender that supplies air to the stock air box, so this filter takes advantage of that as well. On the dyno, the set up gained 9hp and 4 ft-lbs of torque, and that was with a standard cone filter, not the Power Stack. Price is $89.00 plus $7.50 shipping. Pictures and ordering info can be found at: http://members.aol.com/NLOCsvt/cmad.html

For those interested in an performance chip for your new supercharged Lightning, Superchips has this product ready to go, with plenty of track and dyno data. And many owners of these vehicles right here are F150online members who are using the Superchip Flip Chip.

The Superchip Flip Chip, which is the world's first chip for the new Lightning, has been shown to reduce 1/4 mile times by anywhere from .5-.8 seconds, and delivers an honest 25 hp at the wheels. (Stock rear wheel hp was 291, with the Superchip it's 316)

The Superchip, unlike other chips, works *all* the time, from 1000 rpm on up, regardless of throttle position, so it's a great improvement to overall driveability, and can be run all the time in performance mode, with no restrictions, that way you are always enjoying what you've paid for. This program was developed on track and in the dyno cell, so careful attention has been paid to A/F ratios, Exhaust Gas temperatures, emissions, etc., and the end result is a performance program for use everyday *and* at the track. The factory program is also available at the flip of the switch, which was another Superchips invention.

Superchips was adament about making this new Lightning application able to give the owners the full protection of the extremely conservative factory program, should the vehicle ever be operated in areas where good quality premium gasoline is not available, or when towing heavy loads. And as we can see, the industry is following Superchips lead on the new Lightning, by using a 2-program module. Superchips invented the aftermarket programming industry in 1983, and to date is the only chipmaker in the world who is hired directly by many of the world's major automakers.

Anyone interested in the Superchip for the new Lightning can contact us, our contact info is below. And for F150online members there is our exclusive F150online discount as always.

Our best wishes to all,

Hey Jeff, Sal here. The price on the Power Surge chip for the 99 is $355.00. All 99 Lightning chips come standard in Dual Chip form. R&D on the chip is coming along very well, we have gotten over 20hp and 25 ft-lbs of torque at the rear wheels so far, and we're not done yet. I spent all day Monday on the dyno concentrating on the high rpm power, because that's one spot where the 99 drops off. I was able to bring a ton of power back at high rpm, and keep it there to the shift point. I still have a bit more R&D to do, and I expect to make another 10-15 hp and ft-lbs when I'm done. The truck should really scream when it's finished. I should have chips ready for shipping in the next two weeks, however I am taking orders on them already, even though people know they are not finished ( I guess my reputaion preceeds me? :-p)

Sal,

I mailed a check for your cone filter kit and also included the price of your dual program chip. If you would be kind enough to send the parts as they are done, I'll happily pay any additional shipping and handling. Ship to the address on the envelope or the check and I'll get them.

Thanks and keep up the good work!

I have a 95' that I am having a problem with. First gear and overdrive are not working in the truck. If I put it in first manually, it just stays in second gear.Very rarely, when first gear decides to work, overdrive will work as well. When the truck is in P R N D 2 the truck will hardly run. It misses very bad. If I put in 1 it stays in 2 but it runs beautiful. The reason im so confused is I have a PRO-M mass air conversion and I thought the Trans and the engine had no communication with each other because of the two seperate processors. How can the gear selection on the column determine how the truck runs?
