K&N Filter for 99.5 Lighting
I heard the new K&N Filter is out for our new
Lightings. Has anyone purchased one yet? I was wanting to get feedback from a known user. I'm going to order one thru K&N due to the fact Rick at amazon racing will not reply
back to my e-mail. What happens if you have problems with his kit, I'm afraid there is no support from him. Now I heard are friend
Sal is coming out with his own custom made assembly but with his I heard you have to change out the stock airbox. I would hate changing out the stock airbox for minimum gain. K&N promises 2 to 3% gain are your money back. Thats the best deal I heard and
your using the stock airbox. I'm writing this for feedback purposes only, I'm trying to get the best supported product available
for our vehicles.

Hey Terry, Sal here. Are you looking for a replacement panel K&N filter? If so, you won't see 2-3% gain, you can bet on that. I've done a lot of testing with air filters, and have never seen much of a measurable gain from changing a paper panel to a K&N panel. As for my kit, it does replace the stock airbox, but you don't have to modify anything to do it. You don't even need tools to remove the stock airbox, it just pops out.

Sorry Terry for the Mixup. Everybody that replied to my post I sent an E-mail to with a pic of this setup. I have a problem with AOL sometimes when I send pictures the mail will not go through. Also in this e-mail I told everybody that I will be at the dyno this week to test several new combos on my truck. I have 4 different MAF's to try and 4 filters. This way I can give actual dyno numbers for each part. When I get home I will send you a pic again. Please send me you e-mail address again.
Again sorry for the mixup
