Whipple Woes

Well dyno testing of my whipple will have to wait longer. My torque converter began making a lot of noise so i pulled my tranny to send it out to PI. When i disconnected my pass side long tube from the cat cooland came pouring out. So i pulled the pass side head for a head gasket and here is what i found:

I think it might be more than a torqu converter!!Holy crap that is messsed up! Was the truck running real bad cause that cylinder is gone completely.
Good luck with the build.

Must not have been your converter making noise. Ouch. Cracked cylider as well. Well at least you will be able to fully use the Whipple after your rebuild.

Damn that sucks... I guess your saying Whipple Woes because the power broke your motor? Or did something break on the Whipple and you think that made you drop a valve?

There is a problem with the PI. It rattles like a kids toy. It shouldn't be called Whipple woes because this appears to have started before putting the Whipple on. Now the Whipple coulda taken out the PI but I think the valve might have explained the odd running cyl. The woe is more along the lines of unable to play with the Whipple.

Damn! Wasn't that a built motor?

Wasn't it on Sal's tune? I can't beleive the tune was bad; something must have went out on you like a fuel pump.

why would you blame a tune cause it droped a valve?

Yes my block was already built. That was a manley piston.

Thde torque converter was maing noise. after i removed it you can shake it and hear everything on the inside. Pi said the clutches were toast.

Actually the truck was running great. My dad was driving it at the time and said it made a noise then shut off. What happened was the valve spring broke, kicked out the valve keepers and thus the valve entered the cyl.

The tune did not drop a valve. The issue was mechanical (broken modmax valve spring) and i in NO way blame sal or his tune for the motor.
