pretty sure they are low-mid 12s cars. under estimated 400hp in a light car that is aerodynamic friendly. i'd say u need a ported blower, possibly larger pulley, and most bolt ons.

z06 or no?

took a z06 with a 125 shot to beat me, and he only passed me at 90.

jlp intake, 4lb lower, metco idler, lft t bars and a sal tune.

Not calling you a liar. But, that guy driving the Z06 must have really been a poor driver. A Z06 with a 125 shot would beat most trucks on this site, from any speed.

I rolled hard on a C-5 up until 135

He had headers, exhausts, free-flow cats, and some head work. I had magnum powers @ 20PSI

The new Vettes are tough cars to beat. As for the Z06 story,no way it was a C6 Z06, most likely a C5 Z06 with a clueless driver. The 2 C5 Z06's out here at the track run 12.2's, one is SC'd, one with a NOS shot. Those cars are QUICK.

Our trucks hold their own....

I have raced 4 different vettes, 03 & 04. Each race was on a 1/8 mile track and all but 1 was stock. I beat the stock ones about 3-4 car lengths. The latest was an 04 with a chip, filter and full exhaust, I was on the F-1's and hit the light @ 8.21. He was slowly closing on me and went 8.32. We both had 60' times of 1.9. I cut a better light but not by much. Have not run a 05 yet but wont back down either. A 50K sports car vs a 4700 pound f150 pick up.....Yea, thats what I love about these trucks. You have to really bring somthing to the table to beat an L and I tow my boat with mine.....

Well the 1/8 is a different story. We have the torque to get out quick. Most Vette's I watch run nver even really get moving until 3 rd gear (after the 1/8th) and HAUL.

Have raced a few vette's (C-5) and pulled on them....but not sure what a ZO6 would do to me. Yes, they ARE quick

just do it from a stop or a 20 mph roll. much faster any you won't be able to keep up once he really gets going.

im not talking like a c6 z06. im talking like your base model 05 vette. or the most common one. cause we all know there is definatley something about waxing a sports car in a full size truck that gives that warm fuzzy feeling. so is there any other ones we have a chance against? viper? i love em, but ive heard they cant 1/4 for crap. now if only i could crush some refined european breeds. i love that fact that i live in a semi-small minnesota town. half the guys round here dont know what an L will do. but lets not forget that our trucks are not only as fast if not faster, they will also handle like no other.

I've raced 3 C6s with my lightly modded Lightning (Idler, filter, traction bars, and ftvb). With one of the races being at the track and the other at the street races. The one at the track ran a blistering 13.5 @ 102-3 it was warm and my truck only ran a 13.7@99 (Best is a 13.5 @ 101.9 on f1s) He didn't catch me until the very end I killed him on the light. The other two were for sure m6 cars and temps where down in the mid 60s. The black one was very bolt on, but the owner is not known for his driving skills. We were both on street tires and it took him until 80 to catch me and at which point he sucked the paint off my truck. The other was white and that night I had my drs on. I rapped him out of the hole by about 4 cars and by the 8th he had given up on catching me.

GM sells cars not drivers so go get you some c5 and let us hear about it.

P.S. I think a Lightning with 4lb is just plain ole out and out quicker than stockish c5
