A gallon of gas and a match. That will total it out. I have seen it done. Bob.

To my way of thinking, Ford is on solid ground for voiding the warranty, who knows what may crop up later that was actually related to the crash, The frame being out twists the drivetrain and who knows what else.
The insuraqnce company on the other hand I don't agree with. In Ohio we now have recourse to "residual and resale loss" whcih translates to, yeah it looks new, yeah the damage was fixed, but on resale, the Carfax report shows $XXXXXXX damage and after that the resale is crap, so you lose, BUT we can now make the insurance company consider that in settling the claim. Eihter they total the vehicle (you did sustain more loss than the actual damage that needs fixed, after all) or include an amount in the settlement that would cover an aftermarket warranty and/or the loss you'll see when you sell the truck. Just what I think.

I agree with the gallon of gas and the match idea.

I know this is old and twisted ended up getting a new truck.
But what would happen if the frame was replaced under warranty for a warranty reason? Do you think ford would void the warranty then? I don't think so.

Just a thought

When I hit my moose, they fellows said I needed a new supercharfger assembly, among a crap load of other things.

Then I got the infamous intercooler leak. Low and behold, th supercharger was flaking, and Ford kept the truck an extra couple of days to replace the supercharger.

If they are going to repair it, the they HAVE TO REPAIR it back to FACTORY specifications. Once it is back to FACTORY SPECIFICATIONS, then the warranty should be honored.

This is the shady area, if they do a **** poor job and something needs to be fixed, you may be stuck with running between the insurance company and Ford t see who gets to pay, afterall once you take delivery of the car after its repairs...All is final.
