Jody; or anyone else. Did it require major retuning of your MAF curve after installing it?

Mine is pretty lean now that I installed it; it's hard to say if it's a vacuum leak, or if its needing a change in the MAF curve. I just don't see how it would need a major change in the MAF curve since it doesn't really effect the flow of air over the MAF; just more air.

Weird thing is that it seems to vary depending on driving conditions and gear. I guess I got a leak, but don't want to pull the blower back off again

For those who are having a vacum leak issue, just use some black RTV silicon.Place a bead around the top of the SC.then place the Plenum on.put all the bolts in then tighten the back 4 1st!.then tighten the others.let dry for 30 min. and you should be fine..I caution those who are thinking of having the base machined, you must machine the feet also if not the plenum will sit up higher at the base because the feet will hit 1st. I wouldn't machine it. just simply use the silicon let dry and you'll be fine....JL

Casey, my maf transfer changed with it. I don't think it was a huge difference but it definitely had to be tweaked on mine.

I basically did that; I actually put some on both sides and ran my finger over it to smooth it down. Basically trying to keep it from sqeezing out into the blower. I'll admit that it wasn't really thick, but I figured the surfaces would match up pretty good. I did those 4 bolts first then had to break out the dremel to get the front 2 to line up and bolt them down.

I guess I'll pull it off tommorow; look things over, and try resealing it.

Just disappointing because it ran soooo good on the C&L plenum.

Why do the plenums do this?

Warping after install?

When they weld them the base warps from the heat.

If "warping" from the heat of the welding is true, and it probably is - if you did this youself - would you not re-machine all the surfaces to be true afterwards before installing it? It sounds like JLP knows the surface is somewhat warped - I'm surprised they would ship it that way.

Well; I pulled it off and resealed it making sure it completelly sealed up. I also sealed the EGR block off plate, the idle air valve, and the TB. There is no possible way for it to leak anywhere attached to the sheet metal intake! I already had all the fittings sealed.

Gonna let it dry overnight and give it a try tommorow.
