I have the same issue, the black on the pully is coming off, I dont have any performance issues and the smell has pretty much gone away with 2,000 miles. Im going back in for my 3,000 in 2 weeks so im going to have them look at it.

paint on pulley
I have never had a single problem with my truck, the paint on the pulleys is going to wear off under normal conditions because of the friction between the belt and the pulley, its normal. the paint on my pulleys is almost gone were the belt rides, and thats with 9000 miles on the pulleys. or am I missing something here?.
