Lakewood question

Just recieved my Lakewood's....

It looks as if one rear brace has a slight bend to it.

Is it supposed to be like this or is it supposed to be straight?
Other than the arc in it, the 2 bars are identical.

Do you think I can bolt the one on like this or should I go get it straightened?

Any help would be appreciated

Looks like one the one on the right is screwed up. Does it look stressed (paint cracked) at that joint?

You might want to return them rather than trying to bend it straight. That might stress is too much.

Good luck.

The one on the right does look bent. I would see if it would pull a lil straighter when bolted up. I installed mine about three weeks ago. I have 2in drop shackles and had to use the shims in the front to keep the snubbers off the leaf spring. Good luck, its a pretty easy intall.

Ok I'll help. Throw the junk away and buy a real set of traction bars. Or why not return to vendor for a refund. Why settle for bent brackets. I too had a set of the POS bars and had similar problems. The distributor I bought from opened 8 sets of bars to find two with correct brackets.

That better

I just bought a few other mods and can't afford adjustables now...maybe later if I feel I need them

I would send them back, but I made the mistake of ordering this 1 item from RPM outlet and to return them I have to pay postage, etc so its not worth it.
especially from Canada

I went to a welder friend of mine, straightened the bent one and put a vertical support up the length of the rear bracket on both bars.
as well we welded the braces on both sides,

Lakewood only welds one side of the support... thats just shameful
