Rear leaf creak with Roush?
Rear leaf creak with Roush?
Has anyone else noticed a creaking noise when the spring compresses? I don't hear it while driving, but I notice the sound when I load the bed or just push down on the back of the truck with my hands. Is everyone else's rear suspension quiet? Do I need to lube something up?

I lube the spring bushings and stuff and it quiets down for a few months, depending on if I drive in the rain.

Welcome to the world of urethane bushings.
They're more solid, but they'll let you know they are there.
Now if only there was a zerk fitting on the eyelets...sigh. I have some grease I picked up from AutoZone, but I think I'm going to give the Prothane "NoSqueak Supergrease" a try.

Hmmm, ok so this sounds like par for the course and I should just live with it, or keep at it with regular shots of lube. Thanks for the replies, at least I know something isn't "wrong" besides the additional racket behind my head.

Mmm, I have no experience doing such and would be afraid to make this my first try.
I also imagine that since there isn't one, the bushing probably is not grooved to make greasing it easy.

The drilling and tapping is the easy part...getting the grease to flow around the bushing would be the hard part but it couldn't be any worse than trying to shoot grease in from the side of the bushing. Given that this seems to be a common problem with the Rousch suspension I may have to zerk my rear leafs prior to installing them.
Get some white lithium grease in a spray can. It usually comes with a little tube to put in the nossle like WD-40, that should make it easy to spray in there and it should last a good little while.

Oh and by the way, there are only two left.http://www.chickenears.com/roush_suspension.htm

That's what I've been using...
