I have a 99 Lightning, and I wanted to pop off the pieces on the mirrors that are painted in other years. How can this be done? Are there clips inside that need to be popped loose? If so, where are they located? Any help would be appreciated.

Move the mirror all the way down (looking at the ground) you should see a couple tabs between the mirror and the housing.. pop them up and the shell should fall right out..

 

I just came in from doing it. I don't think it could have been any easier. 4 little tabs and its out!
