Less spark plug gap = rougher idle?
Changed my TR8IX's to TR6IX's this week and reduced my gap from .035 in the old TR8IX's to .032 with the new TR6IX's.
I can't believe that a miniscule .003 in plug gap makes a difference in idle quality. I will say that it's been rainy here the last several days, and in general, in rain or high humidity the idle quality is worse. In cold winter days, the idle generally feels improved from a smoothness standpoint.
Should I make the gap bigger? I hate like hell to go through the hassle of dealing with the plugs over a few thousands inch plug gap. If so, is .003 really going to clear up the idle? Should I go to .040?

you would think that the idle would be beter with the hotter plug. I would wait it out a couple of days. The weather down here has less than desireable for peak running conditions latelly.ahhhhh summer, gotta love it.also i assume no noticeable missifes. very easy to close the gap further when installing the plug.good luck. im sure one of the lightning gurus will have something more to offer.
