Some QA1 and Heim related questions

I'm planning a drop for my truck right now and trying to get all my facts straight before I order the hardware. Got a few questions if you guys don't mind...

I've noticed some people are using what appears to be a custom fabbed top mounting plate for their rear QA1s that are heim equipped. Are these mounts mandatory for the heim setup or are they just a luxury? Does the heim kit from stan (ruslow) come with these mounting plates?

Why are the QA1s that stan sells so much more money than what summit sells? Are they setup special to accept the heims up top?

Finally, does anyone know if the DJM c-notch is completely bolt-in? I don't own any welding gear and I read in someone else's post that the western chassis one needs to be welded in addition to being bolted in place...

The Ruslow mounts to relieve stress on the rod, QA1s have failed in the past because of this, and the mounts are the solution.

Yes

I don’t know what the difference in price is, but you will have to add the cost of the “T bar” mounting kits to that price. Ruslow sends them with the shocks.

Don’t really recommend DJM products, but any good C notch should be welded.

Excellent, I appreciate it.

That seals it, if you read this Stan, I'll be ordering Friday night. Front coils, rear QA1s, and the heim kit.

Thanks again.
