Truck issues/performance/tranny?
Truck issues/performance/tranny?
Whats up,
Last night at the track, the truck was acting funny. When burning out, if i floored the truck in drive it would burn perfectly fine through first, hit second for a few seconds, then it would literally feel like it was going to shut off. I had to quit my burnouts each time because i thought i would cut right out. The rpm's just drop right out, but the blower is still making boost? This Has happened a few times to me before. And my times suffered as well. I ran 12.8 @ 107.x each time, and im really not satisfied with that. I have jlp longbars, and full hoosier slicks, and i cannot manage better than a 1.8x or 1.9 usually 60ft. The truck hooks off hte line perfectly, i cant figure why the 60's arent in the high 1.7 range or something like that. My previous best has been 12.52 at 109.5. Weather during racing last night was about 65 degrees, 75% humidity, and baro of 29.37 or so. And a tailwind. I have a strong feeling that maybe my second gear is weak? Maybe its on its way out? On the street, full throttle i only manage a chirp going into second gear. It seems back when i had just a 4lb and chip, the truck would swing sideways on the shift. Truck is JLP dyno tuned, i made 425/503 on a hot pull back in april. Does anybody have any common issues like i'm having? I replaced the fuel filter earlier that day, so it isnt related to that. I'll make a plug change as well, but there's no missing or anything like that. It's really got me stumped. i have a lot of money in my truck and I just expect better results than people with a simple chip and pulley. Pretty dissapointed. If it in fact turns out to be the transmission, i'll have one built and get a stall. Let me know. Sorry for the long post.

Still meeting me tomorrow sam? What ya got for me tranny related? i really need to ride in your truck to see if thats my issue. Does anybody know if our trucks are shifting into second gear before the end of 60ft? I'm wondering if slow shifts are making my 60fts slower than they should be. Plus i dont get why the truck wants to die when burning out
