2400 Stall Converter?
2400 Stall Converter?
With a 2400 stall converter and slicks, what is the best way to launch. Should I start dead idle or raise the idle to 2400? Before stall converter best way for 60' times is from dead idle. Also why? Thanks!

Try ~1500rpm,this will be enough to help reaction time (less dlay for flash)and 60 ft (still some flash). Flash lets themotor built some momentum (already acceleraing) before convertor locks, too much flash slows reaction time.
I've tried everyway possible. Launching with my left foot on the brake as hard as I could and the revs at about 2300 gave me the best 60ft. But the truck was inching fwd too. Was'nt fun at all but I cut 1.7s that way.
The most consistant I've found was about 1600 and quickly rolling to the floor. (low 1.8s)
Also worth noting I got my worst 60fts by launching easy from about 1000 rpms? Off idle and stomping it got better though. (Flashing the convertor)

you will have to experiment a little
With 30 inch slicks and my 2400 stall I launch at 1800 rpms, I have driven Jamies truck with the same setup as mine and I can launch his truck at 2000 rpms.
Every truck is a little different, so try 1600, then 1800, and if you still get good traction try a little higher
