Angry Found out where the torque went, the same place the HP went, too

Regarding my concerns from another thread "where did my torque go?" I went and had a little systems check / validation for sanity reasons today with my local tuner in Houston, Strictly Performance. These guys are experts at tuning Lightnings / Cobras, and they have a solid reputation of producing results. They checked my cylinder compression and it was exceptional for a 34K stock motor. No tranny slipping. Good coilpacks, good fuel pressure. Mods installed correctly. Ok, ready for the dyno...

Keep in mind that it's hot in Houston these days, we ran this pull in 93F temps.
The mods that matter are:

Magnum Powers
MP Bracket
2.7 MP upper
6# lower
C/L Plenum
SBTB
JL Intake
SCT 6V MAF
NGK TR8IX
Hypertech 160F stat
Bassani catback + X pipe
Predator + RWTD tune spec'ed for my mod level, 15* max

Was this my pull? The tuner was shocked too.
"Dude, I've seen almost every 01-< Lightning with a 4# lower, filter and tune with more HP and TQ! Who did your tune?

Further investigation on the dyno using street driving patterns shown the timing tables locked @ 15* above 3.4K, and no real curves set. The injectors were set to like -22 or something, he said it was really rich. The tuner said it appeared that the whole part throttle table was staticly set to the same trims and timing. WTF.

Bottom line is, I am getting robbed of severe amounts of HP and TQ by a crappy tune, and I can't do anything about it until I get Diablo to reset my Predator. RWTD's long running AWOL isn't helping me, either. This is flustrating as hell!!!!

Be careful of Strictly Performance, many horror stories from cobra tunes on modularfords.com and svtperformance.com.

Strictly is just that, Strictly a joke and a bunch of idiots.

They claim to tune but they dont and even messed up a fellow gen1 owners truck with a paxton and said it was his fault. NOT.

Ask them to install a set of brisk plugs of the wrong heatrange while your at it.

if you wanna run a 9 in a cobra they would be more than happy to spray it with lots of nitrous and run wd40 in the blower for lube.

Chris Johnson (SCT) was in Houston three weeks ago! Why the hell did you not have him tune it?

Strictly totaly screwed up on tuning my truck. Bad tune that cost me 1200 bones and they clogged my cats.

Hey guys, they didn't tune anything for me. Diagnostic run only at this point. I was going to give RWTD a chance to fix the problems, but that's not very likely since I haven't had a response from him in 6 weeks.

Still, this dyno result is horrible, right? I was under the impression that I should be close to about 490-500 RWHP with these mods on 93 Octane.

I don't have a SCT programer, and I won't own one until they produce a product that has the features of the Diablo.

I'm getting a lot of conflicting advice regarding the repor of SPT... I don't know what to think at this point...

Yes the dyno numbers do "suck" but in no way do I think you will be CLOSE to 500RWHP on 93 octane. Just not gonna happen. I would say you should shoot for 450ish on a SAFE street tune. You have a stock long block correct>??? If you have heads/cams then I apologize and I am a moron and yes you should be where you want to be. -Mat-

as a comparison to my friend's '02: 6 lb-er, JLP CAI, FTVB, ported blower, stock exhaust, diablo chip gave him 436/503, 11.8 A/F, 16 deg timing in 80% humidity

My '01 with: 4 lb-er, FTVB, K&N FIPK, full exhaust, predator tune gave 388/465.

You should be waaaay beyond 400/500 with your mods, IMHO

Yes, the dyno result is horrible. Up here in N. Dallas, my truck pulled 393/482 w/ the following mods: 4# lower, Magnaflow cat-back, and REM CAI. That's it!

I just don't know about your numbers. You plugs seem kindof cold for your setup. But, I also don't give the MP blower much credit either for making much power.

What boost numbers are you seeing? And that A/F reading has NO numbers with it, but I would say it looks pretty good if it is sitting where most do.

My 03 has made 415/491 with a 4lb lower 2lb upper, Apten ported blower, JLT CAI, and RWTD tune. That is at 15* max timing, 92 oct gas at 80*F ambient air temps on a heat soaked motor. My A/F was at 11.8. Something definatly doesnt add up.

+1 Been there done that with those mods and 93 oct. If he gets 450 SAE he'll be lucky.
