Starter wires hookup??????

How do the starter wires hookup? There are 3 wires. One is small the other two large. Both large are the same size and color; just different ends. How do you figure out which goes to which post, or does it even matter???

SWEET!

Ok; I do have a question. On the top picture. The big wire that is disconnected where does it hook up?

And bottom picture where does it hook up?

I never even thought about taking pictures or anything But, I also didn't expect my 3~4 week out motor to take 10 weeks

Yeah mine was out for about 6-8 weeks.
I wished you lived a little closer and I would come help one weekend.

I've been working on it since Saturday Only help I've had was dropping it in and lining things up. Other than that I have been happy working on it by myself; nobody else seems to be of any constructive help. More of just the in the way because they are clueless. Experienced help would have been soooo sweet!

I "MIGHT" get to hear it run tonight, but just know something is gonna come up that crushes that idea

Big wire on the left goes on the starter mounting stud (2 bolts + 1 stud to mount the starter). The stud goes in the mounting lug visible in the left side of the starter.

The wire and bracket at the top of that same photo bolt to the frame and tie the starter ground to the frame ground.

edit (oops - thate's the middle pic) The one in the bottom pic I think attaches to the firewall to tie in the body ground as well. I'm fairly sure it mounts by the solenoid.

The wires in the REAL bottom pic mount to the starter solenoid at the firewall.

Yes; just figured it out on the bottom picture. That hooks up to the fire wall(I never disconnect that). I see now what I was trying to do wrong on the starter hookups.

Dude; I owe you big time

Back outside to fight the heat, bugs, and Fords frame "gunk"
