For what they charge, those wheels should be perfectly constructed, and impervious to anything short of Kryptonite. That borders on criminal.

I just bought some iforged wheels because the hre's were so damn expensive. That's unbelievable, for the money people spend on those wheels... crazy. Hopefully my iforged hold up

Isn't that interesting! I am so glad because I almost bought a set last year as a track only wheel. I was thinking of running 335-30-18 all around and get HRE to make the custom wheels. I really came close but intead I opted for some brand new 2000 wheels on clearance for $500 with TOYO RA-1 305-30-18. That combination is fantastic.

I am so glad...

For what those things cost, they should be built to military spec.

That's unreal ... after Gingerman banning the "greenstuff" now this ...

What's next --- "Hoosiers no longer allowed on open track" -- j/k

I'm thinking of CCW wheels ... Any comments?

some of the strongest wheels out on the market are a psi cast wheel. which the ORIGINAL R wheels were done.[believe it or not they were cast in Japan]] the us made ones where just a cast wheel and not as strong.Weight is a problem but like anything else in racing the LAST lap is the one that counts so choose wisely.Stan
PS I was looking at the HRE or I forge[I think they are basicly the same system [and problems]]But not now.sTan

Any of the lightweight wheels out there that are the high end ones are not doing very well on vehciles that can subject them to the high stress loads I have heard of a few I Forge as well as Fiske wheels breaking the center spokes out.I think the majority of the wheel problems are due to the fact that the spokes are so thin and with the cornering loads that they see form GOOD sticky tires it overloads them and they stress crack .IF not seen in time ,break!Stan

I've been hearing a lot about some of the lighter SSR brand wheels (comps) breaking in track situations for a while now too.

I think that Stan is saying that the IForge wheels are similar in design and construction to the HREs. But it looks like the companies may in some way be related -- they are both in the same area, their logos look similar, and they make nearly identical wheels. Former HRE employees, perhaps?

It's too bad that Fikse doesn't make 20s.

i have talked directly with the owner of CCW and he shows no interest in the "L" community.

HRE wheels gone bad!

I have a set of the Forgeline RS-3 3 piece wheels on my Lightning. I liked the fact that the spokes were thicker and wider than some of the showier 3 piece wheels I looked at. Forgelines are used in several racing classes, and I haven't heard of any significant failures.Has anyone seen or heard anything negative on this manufacturer?

Stan,
Are you still running the stock wheels. How are they holding up?
