for open road I run stock wheels.for track I have a set of aftermarket forgot what brand but did some research before I bought and was told that they are a psi casting.I think one way to see if the wheel is really a good design is see if it meets european specs and can be inspected [and pass] on the cars over in europe I know there are many who have to remove parts because they do not meet that spec. The way i understand it is it is ALOT tougher than the DOT specs.Stan

It's called "TUV." And it is much tougher.

TÜV standard is a German standard that is considered one of the toughest standards to pass.

One reason why I bought the Tire Rack wheels that I did. They were OEM'ed from SME, a German manufacturer of TUV-approved low pressure cast wheels.

BBS has an impeccable reputation for quality and durability.

But very little to offer for sport trucks.

Does HRE make stock Porsche wheels? It's an interesting picture but share some of your detective work with us if you don't mind. I'd love to know the backstory of this picture and it's relevance to the HRE situation.

That is just one of many. The story is on the link I posted and is for the vipers I think they lost 2 wheels at their event but the GT3 porsche wheel that yo see is really a HRE wheel. At that event their were 2 others[porsche]that had the same wheels and they inspected theirs and found cracks in them also. What I think it is is the wheel center is not strong enough for the sticky rubber and the g forces that are put on them in turns on weither from the bite that the tire has or in our case the weight of the vehicle.also have heard of atleast 1 vette having the same probelm with HRE.Stan
