Sold the L today... thanks guys.

Hey guys I haven't been around for too long, but due to insurnace reasons I had to put the L up for sale. Well guy offered me 17k for it today and since it was about what we owed and more than what i would get on trade in I took the offer. Does that seem like a decent deal for him and for me? Truck just hit 30k miles, not a scratch on it... Anyway I learned a lot since I've been on this site, and will still hang out for a while, but it's been sweet. Maybe when I get out of this damn insurance bracket (18-25) I can step back into one.

Hate to see a fellow Silver Man go! But I know what you mean about the insurance, I went threw the same crap when I was your age. Heck I knew some guys that there insurance payments were more then there car payments!! Those guy's had speeding tickets and accidents, and those will haunt you for a long time. So if you can keep your record clean and don't get any speeding tickets from the Fuzz, it will pay off $$$$ in the long run. And in no time you'll be RIDIN' THE LIGHTNIN' AGAIN!!!

I'm still thinking about unloading mine (cobra next year) and have seen some posts around the $24k range, but when you said "Well guy offered me 17k for it today" now I'm thinking otherwise.

At 17k I'd be better off modding the he double L out of it (L) and just buying the cobra also.

I don't know there's an 02 with 27,000 miles, 50 miles south of San Luis Obispo, Ca for $16,500 in the paper today. But then again Lightnings are all over the place here, the only thing you see more of are $100,000 Mercs being driven by 18 year old girls.

This is really off subject, but there are so many nice cars in Ca that the used ones are basically free, another example 2000 420 Merc for $16,000 32,000 miles, but the new Mercs don't have the reputation that they used to. Of course on the flip side, since gas is so expensive here a used good condition Toyota is simply outrageous, you really won't find a difference in price between used and new.

High Insurance ?

My insurance is pretty cheap , they rate it as an F-150 / with a svt code and I"m only paying $ 70 a month for Full coverage .

State farm , I just switched from them to where my new house insur. is
Liberty Mutual and its still around $ 70

Being 40 with no tickets doesn't sux to bad now does its youngens

Sold my 2001 white L for 24 K on ebay last week
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ADME:B:LC:MT:1

Guy picked it up Friday , I was in Ohio Sunday buying an 03 blue , the white was heavy on the mods , ran 12.5 in the 1/4 8.2 in the 1/8 last week , and dyno'd at 411.9 hp .

The blue 03 has some mods , but the whitey was a scrrrrrreeeeemmmmmmer .
