NAPA belts are made by GATES , but are not the GREEN STRIPE belts.

I bought my GATES belt at PAPCO. Although they market it as their own brand, on the back of the cardboard container that keeps the belt coiled up for storate, it says made by GATES.

Inthe end, I don't believe the gatorback was slipping, but I like full contact patch surface area over the slotted design.

Instead of paying for the gatorback name,
go to a diesel shop and tell them the size that you are looking for. Diesels have been using "gatorback type" belts for years, without the added cost of the "gatorback" marketing price premium.

Oh and if the belt can hold up on a diesel engine, you'll have NO PROBLEM on the lightning engine!

(I currently have a gatorback, only because it came with my new pulley)
