There is an 04 Lightning right.

I was talking to this guy today about his lightning (02). I was telling him that I was in the market for an 03-04 lightning since they dont have the spark plug problems. The guy starts going off on how there is no such thing as an 04 lightning. I politely disagreed with him. He did however have a whipple, and an excaliber 2 chip and a few other mods, so I figured he knew what he was talking about. So I said ok, my mistake, then he keeps going off about how anyone says there is an 04 lightning is stupid as hell. I was about to knock the **** outta of the guy...but then he got in his truck. So I guess I am second guessing myself..is there an 04 lightning? I have seen what claim to be 04's.

Yes, there is a 2004 Lightning without a doubt! Some people just refuse to listen.

Yes, your friend is a chithead…

Yes, there is a 04 Lightning. It is a “heritage”, in other words it’s exactly like a 03 but just carried over for the model year 2004.

Honestly, the guy was a total A-hole about it. I will prolly run into him again since he shops at the wholesaler I do. He probably lied about his whipple as well. He said it had about 750 HP and was a 180mph truck. He was running stock rims and tires on it. So i think he was full of bull****. Is it even possible to get a lightning up that fast due to trans and rearend gearing? I feel a little good about being a newbie and destorying an owners intellect on his own truck when not even owning one myself.

BTW: thanks for all the great info on the forum. Helps alot with us future owners!

I came close to buying a White 04. So that guy is the one who is STUPID AS HELL! Have him come on here and tell all the 04 owners they are stupid and they don't have a 04 Lightning and see what happens!

If he claimed he had an "X-Calibrator 2 chip" he is the one that is full of *****..
The X-Calibrator was just released last week and it is not a chip, it is a hand held tuner.

This guy was probably thinking about the 05/06 Gen III Ls that never happened. The 04 L (as already stated) still in ther heritage model. I belive they stopped producing them in May of 04 (anyone know the exact date?) Either way he is a moron. I hate it when you run into a guy that thinks he knows everything, but its obvious from talking to him he making stuff up.

look up ruslow. he has done it i think, or at least 179 mph. that was in a Lightning. although he has done many modifications to his truck. as far as the body, just a few aero mods like a spoiler and grill cover.
