Anyone using a Phenolic Spacer?

They worth anything? Any gains seen? From past experince, TB spacers might as well be called expensive paper weights. Do these actually help on the L?

I'd say don't waste your time. Some people reports gains, some people reports 0 gains, and some people are happy with the theory "It can't hurt"..

I say it can't hurt. Every little piece goes towards the goal of more power and better ET's.

Im pretty sure it's a part that fits in between your super charger and intake. It's supposed to soak up heat and keep your super charger cooler. Someone else could better explain all about it.

I got one from RUSLOW, and it went in between the upper intake and the supercharger. Phenolic does not transfer hardly any of the heat from the SC to the intake. I think JDM says that it also does something with the airflow.

Last time I seen Whip in charleston he had a spacer on and I didn't. We both ran down the 1/8th mile and measured intake temps 5 minutes after the run. His intake was 20-35 degrees cooler than mine. I went out and bought a spacer shortly after.

Thanks for clearing up where it goes for me. I knew what it did, but I wasn't so sure where it went.

Besides cooler temps on the in take, you can put your hand on the intake even after Arizona 110* and keep it there; just after a run!

No. It was the temperature reading off the top of the intake. Whip had infrared temp gun that we used to get the temperature of the top of our intakes.

Everything was not equal with our trucks though. I think he had a 2# and I had a 4# pulley on at that time.

I've searched this before, and a lot of other folks believe that it could restrict the plenum from aiding as a heat sink for the blower.

personally, I don't know. (and I don't have one)

Amp.

Exactly what I was going to say!

however, I can drive all day, or take a lap at the track and can rest my hand on the intake (upper Plenum) until I get bored.

Welcome to the unproven question - does 30 degrees cooler surface temp mean a lower IAT2? Air is rushing fast through what - about 12 inches of plenum. Everybody states the touch factor and take it on faith that it means anything. I bet if this part cost $300, people would care about proof. Since it is $50-80, "What can it hurt"...
