lowered L parking brake cable question

I just purchased an '02 L that has been lowered with Belltech parts. It doesn't look like it is a drastic drop maybe a 2/4, I'm not sure. The coating around the rear parking brake cable has pulled out of the metal sheath at the drivers side brake assy and won't allow the parking brake to work. It looks like it might be a little too short to reach the holder behind the brake assy. Should there be some kind of adapter for the cable that should have been installed with the lowering kit? Or is it possible that a new cable might fix it?
Thanks for any help on this,
Scott

StealthL,
The cable should be the right length.
I had to make a 'tool' to pull the two cables together at the metal
sleeve. It was tricky not to damage the plactic on the cable.
Maybe someone else knows a different way to do it.
Good luck.
