Wow Chris, lots of drama going on lately.
Sad to see you selling the truck.

A house is a much better investment.
You'll still need something to get to work in!

Too bad you couldn't sell the truck so you can qualify for the loan
and then buy it back. Kinda defeats the purpose I know...

Chris,
Really sucks to see it come down to this, but I fully also understand and can relate to your situation, I will never be out of debt. Between the 2 car payments and cc hell along with the mortgage (on a house smaller than my Lightning) there will never be a retirement, college, or saving account, (and I'm an old bastard already so my REAL troubles will start soon)

I've gone bankrupt once in my lifetime already (@ 25 yrs ago) and will never do that again, it sucks to not have Credit, but I worked hard and for the last 10 years mine is the now the highest rating one can have ,
AND THATS WHY I'M IN TROUBLE AGAIN.

GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN BRO...................
You'll always be OUR Lightning Brother

Man, Im sorry to hear that you gotta sell here. Youve been on these boards a long time and I was wondering what happened to you. Maybe it will work out for the best and once you get on your feet you can get a new shelby.

I sold my 01 L when building our new house in 01/02 because I thought I needed to. Credit was great and income/debt ratio was fine, but in my head I wanted the extra room. That was a huge mistake. I'd probably own that truck outright now instead of having a payment on my 03 L for another 3 1/2 years.

LOL, all of the above! I think I've covered all the bases on this one.

Believe me Mark, I know what you are saying. I regretted selling my '01 truck to buy my first house, and ended up going through withdrawel and ordering the '03.

However, there is a method to this madness. Part of my plan for the new house is to build a garage/workshop that I'll be able to do side work out of. I constantly have people wanting work done outside the dealership, unfortunately I don't have a place to do it, and the dealership obviously doesn't allow the techs to do private work at the shop. If I get my garage, I'll be able to do some work at home at night or on the weekends, and this will actually help supplement my income. in the long term, the house and garage will actually help pay the bills, where as the lightning will only continue to be a drain. I already can't afford to race it anymore, for fear of another expensive breakage. For me right now, I think it's the best decision. If things go the way I want, hopefully in the not to distant future I'll be able to afford another toy. Unfortunately for the time being I need to cut costs and look at the bigger picture.

I hope I'm making the right decision anyway... who knows.

later,
chris

I wish I had the extra $$$, I would buy your 'L' in a heart beat! How long have worked at 'U' Ford? I had a buddy that used to live right off of Pharham Rd' not far from there. Every time I go to Richmond I always stop there to check out the new SVT's. Good luck with the sell and getting your new pad.

So sorry to hear that your getting rid of the blue truck, but your doing the right thing and getting your financial situation straight is more important than showing off how much you can waste on a truck.

The motor thats in it now, is that the third or fourth one and how many miles are on that one? I know you pulled your stocker, built your own then it got hurt on the dyno, then the third one was knocking like crazy, so this would be the fourth one correct?

Next time I would advise that you take a few steps backwards instead of trying to push alot of boost and nitrous thru a truck that wasnt even caged. plenty of trucks have gone faster with less boost and nitrous and are still running strong today.

Better yet, buy a gen1 and be done with it.
