Giving BIG props to a local L owner..Herb
Just wanted all to know that there is definitley a good guy hear in San Antonio. I met a guy named Herb last week and he helped me out putting on an upgraded plenum on my 99L. All I can say is I wish there were more guys in the world like Herb. (Greg your right there too) We discussed how the Lightning crowd are always willing to help each other out and Herb not only helped me, but explained everything that he was doing to my L. (I don't know sh$t)
( Herb walked me through everything and explained more than I could comprehend.)
After we took a ride with the new plenum and power pipe, I think It put Herb back in the spirit to get his truck running a little faster...sooner.
))
Again thanks Herb and your a generous soul!!!
I will see you for a NICE lunch in the weeks to come,
Josh

aw man glad you had a good time with him, he has been nothing short of a pain in my @ss. always asking questions about how my build is going and if everything is going well and if he can help in anyway. just dont ever give him your phone number, i am scared of what will happen if he gets mine!
hi Herb
Thanks for the kind words Josh. It was nice meeting you and I was glad to help. I like being able to start giving back. Now that you know where to find me - don't be a stranger.
And as for you Mike.....
How's the build going? Anything I can help with? Isn't your number 1-800-spank....
oh nevermind, that's something else! (wrong speed dial button
).
I can definately say that the trip 'around the block' has me jonesing for the L more than ever and I will FINALLY get my butt on task and start putting parts together.
I too would like to see some local L activies (you can come too Mike), but first I need to chnage from an L owner, to an L DRIVER.
Thanks again Josh,
Herb

Yep there are some great fellas in San Antonio. Steel and Greg helped me find that the intercooler pump wasn't working on my truck. Clay pulled my supercharger, cleaned the intercooler, helped me install a 4lb pulley, sold me a SCT 1715 for peanuts and educated me on how to use it. Those three guys got my respect quick, fast and in a hurry!!!! I would do anything in the world for them....well, almost anything
Here is to ya gents for being the great guys you are

Thanks Rob,
Just sharing what I can - it'll all came back around someday.
Steele - what's the story on your truck? I haven't heard any updates for quite some time now. Have you been collecting parts for it yet?

Excellent Idea! That way you're already used to the cash outlay each money. Redirect the 'payment' to the mod fund once the note is cleared and your there in no time. Also, once paid off, you can drop comprehensive insurance and move that cash to the mod fund too. Once it's running again, bring back the insurance though - too many idiot drivers around SA.

I guess that I'll be ready fot that socket starting next weekend. My first round of bolting up will get the heads on the motor and get all the paint and detail work going. I'll likely bolt in the cams and get the timing parts set up next weeken or the following one. The only thing I'm lacking at tis point for that part of the assembly is the solid finger followers to degree the cams.
Thanks,
Erb
