How much inequity would you have had in your current truck?
i.e. the diff between what you owe and what the dealer would give you for it.
I am upside down roughly $2500.00 or so depending on when the actual pay off is made. I am working on some other avenues to generate some extra cash right now. Maybe I can pull this off still and not end up hanging myself finnacially with Chris's awesome truck. If only did not drop all that cash for all the mods on my truck I could have swung this EASILY!!!!

Getting more upsidedown and putting debt on a CC is bad. ESPECIALLY for something that is going down in value every day.

Why not take a *portition* of what you would have spent and do a built lower end? Maybe make it a "next winter" project. Would give you somethnig to look fwd to and work towards.

Rich (years of doing it the wrong way talking to you )

Bob, I wouldn't do it either, it's a poor decision all the way around. What I would would do is hold on to what you have, keep a nice safe tune in it and some restraint in the boost department, then do a short block when the money allows, you already have the blower to make 600hp. I've had a hard time as well deciding how far to go and how much is enough, I don't live near a track and might make it only 2-4 times a year so for me a solid street package 500hp 550fpt is my goal, that with a nice suspension and wheels package and an upgrade in the audio department is where I'm goin to stop. Good luck, Todd

Tom -

The housing market around here is NUTSO!

My wife and I bought our current house with MANY upgrades (new construction) a month before hurricane Ivan hit last August at roughly $69.00 a sqaure foot. The current price for houses is $100 - $120 a square foot now. Its insane and I don't now where it is going to end, I am just thankful to get in before all this insanity has taken place.

I'd have to also agree with all thats been said Bob

The 80-100 performance Vehicles I have owned over the past 30 years have clearly left me living in what most would consider poverty. Yet here I went and put 100% of a built motor on top of well over 10K I already owed on my CC's, (not to mention I still owe 3 yrs on the truck, and 4 or 5 on the Mitsi-whatever it is) What did that get me, MAYBE 20HP more than I already had and CC hell I'm so @#*%ed up that the only reason I bought a second new car was because the dam heat worked like crap in the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Chris's truck is one beautiful Beast, and it has the Power to back up the looks,
but it just DOES NOT make sense Bro, not when your already bigger and badder than me and a hell of a lot of others.

Yes I am glad I built my motor, especially since it was seconds from exploding, and yes I finally have piece of mind, but now I'm broker than broke can even be imagined, and the game just gets more expensive.
And due to the fact I gained no power, there's no doubt I will end up making another major purchase to fix that sooner or later.

Dont get me wrong, I Love my L more than anything outside my son in this world, but HAVING to own another vehicle, the ENDLESS MODS, and not being able to race local anymore, has me clearly looking and acting like an insane person.

AMOF thats the only reason I kept it mild, so I can still drive it daily.
THAT ALWAYS BRINGS A BIG SMILE TO ME, and it DOES make it all worth it.

Buy yourself a nice house, bank some money, and have a beer in 10 years while thinking about me eating Cat food in a cold trailer up in the mountains.

All I have to pray for now is my son hooking up with a great women, and me
dieing young and painless. With my luck, it'll be a long slow painful COLD experience, hehehehehehe.....

You must be in south FL. My buddy just bought a condo pre construction 1st offering at 330 sq ft., second offering was at 440 sq ft. so he is up 110 sq ft in a few months and it will not be done until 2007. I can only imagine then.
Rob you should call me too

12.62 @ 106... $0 Credit Card debt

I'm taking things slow as I can afford them. Spent a good $1600 on full exhaust that didn't really do anything for me yet accept for sound. I went down the MP route and went back to a ported eaton when the MP gave me nothing. I hate charging anything I can't pay off in a few months.
