probably best to run a wet shot, and make sure you get the thing dyno tuned.

WELCOME TO F-150 1983

I've been spraying dam near 3 years now on my Lightning.
Orig set up on the stock Motor was:
4lb Lower, 2lb Upper, Ported Eaton, Cool Air Induction, Accu Fab Throttle Body, and 75- 100HP of WET Nitrous. Motor was still running perfect when we built it this winter, "however" there were signs it was near it's death, our timing was perfect.

It is NOT GOOD to run a dry shot on our Lightnings,
way too much to go into here, but the bottom line is anytime you have a Turbo or Supercharger, you ALWAYS want to run a wet kit.

Ok but you have a dry kit, so lets talk about that, and yes many have ran it on a L before. Some blew it up, (our F-150 Brother Chim Shady for example) some got away with it a while, most switched to Wet Kits or just stop using it all together. 98-99% that Spay a L, DEF spray Wet

My opinion would be, DO NOT under any circumstance's Spray it till you get yourself a very Rich NITROUS Tune, you want all the fuel you can get in that Motor especially since your relying on the n20 system to send a signal to add more fuel. This may call for the Bigger Fuel Pumps as a safety precaution. This may call for bigger injectors to assure the extra fuel is going in, thats where the extra fuel is going to be put in, (not a seperate source and place like a Wet Kit). This DEF calls for colder plugs, I would go with BR-7's. And due to the fact it's a dry kit, I would not spray more than 50-75 HP EVER, and I would keep the timing @14-16 Degrees the most, you should start with even less.

You must understand that a Wet System shoots Raw Fuel in the Motor along with the Nitrous, (both at the Nozzle) so you are not depending on your Injectors or any signals from the System to tell the L Computer "hey we need fuel, and A LOT of it". AND HERE'S WHERE THE PROBLEM LIES

A stock L fuel system is marginal at that, and we all NOW know a Lightning motor is a Steel I Beam that can turn into a Sheet of Thin Glass "in a mili-second under a lean condition".
At least with a Wet System, you are not relying on Both Systems to talk to each other and send signals to the L Computer to send Fuel to the Injectors. Another words "we dont have that time", it could be to late .

I dont want to scare you, I dont want to say dont use it, I just want you to realize the difference between the two systems and know their limits and short comings. For this reason I would keep the shot to a minimum, have a very rich program, get as much heat out of it as possible, and have fun

CONGRATS, AND ENJOY THE NEW FOUND POWER

If you run a stock Predator (not custom for your application) pulley tune with a 4 pounder and a 75 dry shot, you're on very borrowed time before you window the block.

I wouldn't do it without a custom dyno (not mail order) Predator tune.

get yourself a nitrous tune. there are many pulley/nitrous L's out there but all have a good rich nitrous tune and a wet kit

You'd be better off ditching the juice and putting the pulley on it if your not gonna get a dyno tune. Way cheaper in the long run.

I ran a 75hp dry kit on my truck for about a year with no problems. However, that was before my ported blower and 4# lower. I currently run a 75hp NX wet shot with a ported blower and a 4# lower. I know I am at the limits of the stock block but so far so good!!!!!!!!!

Every bolt-on, 4lb'er + a 100shot of progressive from RaceTested.com.

I've used it with about twenty hours of dyno time for just the nitrous side of thingsand it's safe & just awsome.
