big pulley problem

I have had it with my 4 lb crank pulley. I have tried everything to get it off and nothing worked. So I took it to my local ford delear and after 3 hours they gave up also. They said if they torqued it anymore they might brake the crankshaft. So is there a pulley for the blower that I can get 4 lb of boost out of or is it limited to only 2 lb. And do you have to have the pulley remover that cost $150 to remove it or is there another way. Thanks for any help.

South Florida Pulley HQ is probably your best bet. Try: SFPHQ site They sell a 2.60" pulley. I don't think it will get you 4lb, probably 3, maybe 3.5 at the most. I'd give them a call. You are likely to get belt slip with this pulley, probably want to go with a idler kit. Some will disagree but my reasearch was telling me the 2.76 upper pulley was a 2lber and the 2.8 was more like 1.50. 2.93" is supposedly stock, at least on the 2003s but even a tuner told me that they'd seen varying sizes from the factory on these trucks.

Can you get some PB Blaster penetrating catalyst up to where it might soak into the threads? I'd let that sit overnight, then hit it again with some more PB, then try to get the crank pulley off. good luck

yeah, you'll need the pulley puller, expensive piece. you can rent one from I think Razor's Edge and then they'll reimburse you most of that money back. there are multiple kits out there. i think *most* people have had good luck with the pullers. There are some with the 03+ models that have had to pull the snout even when using a pulley. can't recall what was going wrong but apparently the puller doesn't work for everyone.

Oh, BTW, you'll need to file the snout ribs of the supercharger down a little to fit a 2.60" pulley. WOO HOO Rob will probably chime in on this here in a bit he runs the SFPHQ setup.

- 2.50" Non-Slip Twin Screw Style Supercharger Pulley =
- for 1999-current Lightning
- for 2002-current Harley F-150

you think this one might work for me. 2.50" might get me close to 4lb. Thanks for the other info.

sorry that is for the twin screw style

2.60" Non-Slip
DUB System

I have a 2.6 upper with stock lower and have had no problem with belt slip even before the Metco Idler which I got more for "bling." I'm seeing about + 3-4 # with it along with intake/chip. I'll be able to have a more accurate "boost" measurement when I get around to installing my recently aquired "Boost Overlay" mod!

The stocker is 2.93, you'd need to go bigger to get less boost. Since you have the 4lb on the bottom.

All you need is this from SFPHQ for 150.00. Or, I believe you can rent them from Auto Zone.
