After lowering the front end how bad is it if...

I don't have the front end aligned? I did the FRPP kit and the cam bolts. I have put about 200 miles on the truck since the drop and was wonder what kind of damage I am doing to my tries but not yet having it aligned?

Thanks!

John

yes right away, you should have drove right there after the drop. Your alignment might not be off that much but it is worth the money. You tires are wearing more then they should if it is off.

My son put off the alignment on his truck and in a couple months he noticed cord showing on the inside edge of both front tires $400.00 (tires) later and an the cost of an alignment.
Save yourself some money. Do not wait.

Just a quick question, do you need new endlinks when you install the FRPP kit?

Yes, your end links should be shotened the same amount as the drop. IE 2.0" drop needs end links 2.0" shorter.

actually aren't you suppose to wait like 150 200 miles for the springs to settle.

But, I would get one now that you got some miles on it

From: Colorado,
Get a level on the rims and crank your front cam bolt to get your wheel straight up.
It will probably come up short even if you go all the way. That's normal.

Then use a tape measure to measure toe in.
A 1/8 to 1/4 toe in at normal rest is fine.
If you use a adjustable paint pole it is very easy.
You take your measurements at 4 O'clock and 8 O'clock.

Adjust your tie rods equal amounts on both sides to maintain steeringwheel to stay centered.

IMHO ANYBODY THAT TAKES THERE TRUCK TO A ALINGNMENT RIP OFF SHOP MIGHT AS WELL BURN THERE MONEY.

I have done my own alingment for 35 years this way and get even and long tire wear.

Believe who you want.

you dont have to get it aligned right away after a drop. after both drops i did i made a point to drive it at least 100 miles after the drop to make sure the springs were settled in the spring pockets all the way, then got an alignment. alot of guys will get it done rigth away, then after 100-200 miles the springs are fully settled, and then their camber is off again and they need another alignment.

so as long as its not pulling really hard, i'd drive it 100-150 miles after doing a front drop, so the springs are settled completely, then get it aligned. your tires arent gonna wear any noticible amount from a little drop and no alignment from a day or two worth of driving around to let everything settle. and then for like 40 bucks, its worth getting it aligned professionally.
