Thinking of trading Rusty for a Blackwood

Ok guys I know I will get some flack but I am thinking of giving up my 99 red Lightning that was owned by Rusty Wallace in order to get a 2002 Lincoln Blackwood.
It only has 23000 miles and has, like most, a lot of aftermarket options.
Does anybody have any experiences with the Blackwood and does anybody think I could get a little more for the L because it was Rusty's?
He even signed it.
No mean responses from any Gordon fans please.

Thanks
Chris

RDY2RAC has a blackwood. Or had one.... I'm not sure if they have it or not.

I would hold on to the L! How did you ever buy a vehicle driven by a Nascar celebrity??

A couple years ago when Rusty went to racing for Dodge, he pretty much had to sell even his personal Fords.
He had his 99 at one of his dealerships here in Knoxville Tn.
He came in later after I bought it and signed it for me.
He spent about 20 minutes with me. I had added several aftermarket items and we was asking me about them.

It will kill me to get rid of it because Rusty is and has been my favorite driver but I saw a Blackwood the other day and I really like it also.I am just trying to figure out the price difference.
There is a dealer in Kingsport Tn. who has a Blackwood with 3500 miles. I don't think he would be likely to treat me fair on a trade though.

as a owner of both a L and a blackwood (my wife's truck) i would say go for it. there is a blackwood forum on this very site(gasp there is actually other forums on this site )

we have yet to figure out a total build but there were less than 5000 Blackwoods produced. so its definitly more exclusive than the Lightnings. the ride is great for a pickup the 4 valve motor is peppy but its a low 16 second truck stock if thats a concern. i guarentee you'll get more looks and people asking questions about it than you would with a Lightning.

Thanks for your response.
Does the Blackwood have real good sound insulation,
like the the Towncar.
I am looking for an extremely quiet interior.

Also any quality issues.

Thanks

My opinion is the Blackwood is "rare" (cause nobody wanted one ), old folks cruiser, (no offence if your old folk) but if your "OK" with a slower truck with more interior room with similar gas mileage to the L....the Blackwood will fit that niche

a friend of mine has one. it probably has pretty average power for a truck, NOTHING like a Lightning. i've taken it for a power spin. no clue what the resale is on them... probably whatever the buyer is willing to pay. i do know that Ford had a HECK of a time getting them sold. my friend was at the Ford plant doing legal work for them and they had hundreds of them sitting on the lot b/c no one wanted them. apparently the $50k luxury truck was not a hot ticket when gas prices skyrocketed. if you want the BLING BLING or the lincoln ride in a truck the Wood is your ticket. it is really a nice truck.

cheyenne i suggest you post all the questions you have in the blackwood forum as i dont drive her truck that often to give you a fair answer. Blackwood forum

red, i dont think its an old fogies truck at all. my wife was 26 and me 27 when we got ours. i do think its a little overpriced for a 2 wheel drive vehicle. and the production delays definitely hurt alot of sales. on the other hand they realy didn't advertise. unlike the new Mark LT.

I don't know exactly how quiet a Towncar is since I've never had one but in the Wood I can easily hear our 3 year old talking in the backseat (& she can hear me).

The only problems I have heard is some people have had issues with the power lid & other have had issues with the air conditioned seats not working. I have been driving mine for almost 3 years now as a daily driver & have not had anything major happen.
