Ok, so if that's a well known cylinder to go lean, why don't tuners richen up that cylinder to compensate?

BUT just know if you constantly push the limits you will end up cooking a plug or 5 "eventually".
And usually "there is" a reason.

The first time I cooked plugs was due to "1" fill of Amoco Fuel,
obviouly it was bad, hours later I cooked 3 plugs (all on the drivers side) The truck was only @10-15 weeks old, fuel filter was flled with crud ( I cut it open and checked)

Drivers side (in order as they were taken out)

Gesss that was some bad fuel ,ie your motor built?

Then I went 3 racing season with the next set of plugs, end of 02, all of 03, all of 04.

Then cracked # 7 nov of last year (04) on the last pass of the season.

That was a new Chip and Program never used before and NOT dyno tuned. I threw A LOT of power at it, and A LOT of Timing at it, "and for the first time", I should not have. "I asked" the tuner to step it up, and "I pushed it" more than I should have.

Today MAY HAVE something to do with me throwing everything at it "when I DEF should NOT have" (rolleyes)

I'm not in a good mood, and actually quite depressed thinking about another plug change, (dont have a clue when I'll fit that in either) so I'll leave it there for now......

Yes White, NOW I do, But all of above was from the orig motor.
PSP rebuilt that motor "AND JUST IN TIME", it now has the best bottom end money can buy, and lots of other goodies, but stock heads and cams. I wont know till the weekend (weather permitting) which plug went south on me this time, but I'm starting with the back two drivers side cause thats where my money is.

I should have never tried throwing 150 hp of n20 at it on the street. I have this big fancy digital nitrous control and instead of throwing 25% or 50%, I had it set for 100% all at once. I knew it wouldn't take it in 1st or 2nd, so I waited till I was in 3rd and stomped it, SOB downshifted when I hit it With 600+ HP I dont have to tell you how fast it can wind up and over rev when that happens. stupid stupid stupid I was........

The new motor has 648 miles on it now and tons of WOT, my tune is perfect, but I still dont have a n20 tune, since I was heading to the PSP Dyno to go get one I figured why not try it out first on the street tune. (16 degrees is DEF too much timing for that much n20) I SCREWED UP

Silly question on fuelrails I heard somewhere that they had improved the fuelrails after a certain yr. anyone know is it true and if so do you have a part #??
also guy at the local dynoshop mentioned the waterjacket proplems, said he's seen a kit to correct it, laughed and said, looks like a Frankinstien setup, but works.

all the plugs are damaged due to heat resulting from:

1. insufficient cooling reaching back cylinders
2. insufficient fuelrails when you up the power.

You can't just add a pulley and chip and be good to go, once you build the motor, you have to go all the way. a halfa$$ job will only lead to problems.
fuel pumps, fuel lines (Suavy was telling me about a set that held a couple gallons in the lines) fuel rails, injectors... you can't skimp on anything. doing so, you risk the chance of going lean and melting plugs or much worse.

Do it once, do it right.

When wydopnthrtl gets back I'm going to see what he thinks of the cooling mod done on mustangs and if it can work on the lightning. He's the GOTO cooling guy for the lightning.

One of our tuners told me our fuel rails are good for 7 or 8 hundred HP...If not that what are people running?
