built motor and new trans

built motor and new trans

after reading a post of a guys idea to buy an L with high miles 100k+ and then put in a built motor and new trans, would this be a good idea if i could get an L for around what he said $12,000 or less. How much would a built motor and new trans cost me also? Thanks in advance guys.
