During the painting process....

The "rings" were hand fabricated and highly polished aluminum sheet. Most seem to think they are stainless.

They were cut from a sheet of aluminum using a hole saw. The outside ring is sandwiched together with countersunk machine screws to attach to ring in truck. The outer ring was welded together, contoured and highly polished. Needless to say the inter
ring was highly polished also.

The seal is a tire intertube and cut very carefully to fit.
