X Factor Update
X Factor Update
Today I went to JDM to have all the necessary mods made to the exhaust system to fit the X FACTOR braces.
First step was to remove my current Magnaflow ovals and tail pipes. Then came fitting the new Silver Bullets.Normaly they sit flat next to each other. We placed them in and they were still hitting the frame of the XFACTOR. Jims crew removed the cat and fabed a new tail with the o2 bung and then reinstalled the silver bullets on an angle with the rt side slightly higher than the left side. We then fit the rt rear Xfactor brace in place. It cleared fine.
Then of course the tail pipes didnt line up.New tail pipes and tips were fabed and test fitted.Once all were straight new hangers were fabed.Everything was then installed and again trued up and marked . Then all tail pipes were removed and wielded and reinstalled. We said NOW WE HAVE IT LICKED,
-------- WRONG------
The rear cross tie actually bolts into a hole that was covered on bothsides by the front bracket for the 58" traction bars. We removed the bars and had to modify the front bar brackets.Which ment removal cutting, drilling and remounting of the brackets and then reinstalling the traction bars. We were now able to align all the holes and tighten all the bolts.
FINALLY WE ARE DONE.
If you have any mods on your exhaust or have 58" bars think long and hard before buying this product.
On the positive side on the way home from JDM I could feel a tighter and stiffer feel on excelleration and moving in and out of traffic.
If mother nature cooperates I will give it the track test this Friday night and will follow up with a report and pics.(I left the camera at JDM)
A BIG THANKS GOES OUT TO JIM AND SPECTOR FOR THEIR HELP.
AS I ALWAYS SAID JDM ROCKS
